Anthropic launched Claude Code Routines on April 14, 2026 — saved automations that run on Anthropic's cloud infrastructure without requiring a laptop. Each routine bundles a prompt, repo, and connectors, triggered by schedule (hourly/daily/weekly), HTTP API call, or GitHub events (PR opened, push, issues). Pro users get 5 routines/day, Max gets 15, Team/Enterprise get 25. This is the first time a major AI coding tool offers persistent cloud agents that survive terminal closures and overnight runs, eliminating the need for custom cron infrastructure.
