Anthropic rebuilt the Claude Code desktop app around parallel sessions on April 14, 2026. The redesign adds a multi-session sidebar (sessions grouped by project, filterable by status), drag-and-drop pane layout, integrated terminal and file editor, expanded HTML/PDF preview, side chat with dedicated shortcut, and three view modes (Verbose, Normal, Summary). Sessions auto-archive when the associated PR merges or closes. Available to all Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users. This is a direct competitive response to Cursor 3's Agents Window, which shipped two weeks earlier.
