Anthropic Launches Claude Opus 4.7 with High-Res Vision, Task Budgets, and xhigh Effort Level
Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.7 on April 16, introducing high-resolution vision up to 3.75 megapixels, a new 'xhigh' effort level for finer reasoning-latency control, task budgets for agentic loops, and a new tokenizer. The model outperforms Opus 4.6 on agentic coding benchmarks and shows particular gains on the hardest software engineering tasks, while pricing stays at $5/$25 per million input/output tokens. Available across API, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, and Microsoft Foundry — Anthropic concedes the unreleased Mythos model still surpasses it.
