Google shipped a native Gemini desktop app for macOS on April 15, built in Swift for Apple Silicon. Users invoke it from anywhere via Option+Space for quick answers or Option+Shift+Space for full chat. Screen sharing lets users ask questions about what they're looking at in real time. Free in all supported languages and countries, requires macOS Sequoia 15.0+. Gemini Live and additional screen sharing features are in development.
