DRAM Shortage Could Last Through 2028 — Suppliers Won't Meet 60% of Demand Until Late 2027
Nikkei Asia reports DRAM manufacturers will only reach 60% of demand by end of 2027, with SK Group's chairman confirming shortages will persist. Goldman Sachs forecasts 4.9% undersupply in 2026, the worst in 15+ years, with Samsung raising DDR5 prices 60% and analysts projecting another 40-50% increase through H1 2026. New fab capacity from Micron and SK Hynix won't reach volume production until 2027 at earliest, creating a prolonged supply gap that directly constrains AI infrastructure buildout.
