Latent Space: Noetik's TARIO-2 Transformer Predicts 19,000-Gene Spatial Maps from Routine Cancer Imaging
Noetik co-founders Ron Alfa and Daniel Bear revealed on the Latent Space podcast that their autoregressive transformer TARIO-2 can predict a full ~19,000-gene spatial transcriptomics map from the cheap H&E staining assay every cancer patient already gets. Their thesis: 95% of cancer trials fail not because drugs don't work, but because the wrong patients are enrolled — a matching problem transformers can solve. GSK signed a $50M deal licensing the platform, validating commercial traction for AI-driven clinical trial optimization.
