Alipay launched an AI Pay-powered service that enables OpenClaw-type AI agents to make purchases and complete payments based on user instructions, marking one of the first major payment platforms to natively support autonomous agent commerce. The integration lets AI agents browse, select, and pay for goods/services within Alipay's ecosystem. This is significant because agent payments have been a missing piece in the agentic stack — someone had to build the financial plumbing, and Alipay just did it at scale.
