Claude Code v2.1.117: Forked Subagents, Model Persistence, MCP 500K Result Override

Released April 22. Forked subagents can now be enabled on external builds via CLAUDE_CODE_FORK_SUBAGENT=1. Model selections via /model now persist across restarts even when a project pins a different model. MCP tools can return up to 500K characters via _meta["anthropic/maxResultSizeChars"] annotation — a major unblock for DB schemas and large tool results. Also fixes Write/Edit/Read failing on files outside the project root when conditional skills are configured.
