Roo Code Shuts Down After 3M Installs, Merges Back to Cline, Pivots to Roomote Cloud Agent

Roo Code announced it will archive its VS Code extension repo on May 15 to go all-in on Roomote, their cloud agent product. The team is merging back to Cline (the project Roo originally forked from). CEO Matt Rubens cited the need to 'constantly destroy and recreate to keep up with what's newly possible.' Cline confirmed the merger. This removes a major VS Code AI coding extension from the market overnight.
