Tip: Update to Claude Code v2.1.117 — Opus 4.7 Context Was Silently Capped at 200K Instead of Native 1M
Claude Code v2.1.117 (April 22) fixed a critical bug where Opus 4.7's context window was calculated as 200K instead of its native 1M tokens. If you were using Opus 4.7 on any earlier version, your agent was operating at 1/5th context capacity without any warning — truncating long codebases, losing conversation history, and potentially degrading output quality. This may partially explain some of the Opus 4.7 regression reports; users experiencing issues should update and re-evaluate before concluding the model is worse.
