Google Rebrands Vertex AI to Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Cloud Next 2026 with Cryptographic Agent Identity, ADK v1.0, and 200+ Models
Google announced a full rebrand of Vertex AI into the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform at Cloud Next 2026 on April 22. The platform introduces Agent Identity (cryptographic IDs for every agent), Agent Registry for approved tools, Agent Gateway for policy enforcement, Memory Bank and Memory Profiles for persistent contextual memory, and access to 200+ models including Claude. ADK v1.0 shipped stable across Python, Go, Java, and TypeScript with native MCP integration and the revamped MCPToolset class. This positions Google as the first hyperscaler to offer unified agent building, governance, and orchestration under one product.
