Brockman Testimony: Musk Had OpenAI Employees Secretly Work on Tesla Autopilot in 2017
In Day 6 of Musk v. Altman, OpenAI President Greg Brockman testified that Musk enlisted several OpenAI employees to do months of free work overhauling Tesla's Autopilot approach in 2017 — without OpenAI's knowledge. Brockman also revealed Musk sought control of OpenAI partly to finance an $80 billion 'city on Mars.' Under cross-examination, Musk's lawyers highlighted that Brockman never followed through on his $100K donation pledge to the nonprofit despite his now-$30B equity stake in the for-profit subsidiary.
