Musk v. Altman Day 8: Nonprofit Expert and Former Board Member Testify OpenAI Strayed from Safety Mission
On Day 8 of the trial, three witnesses — a former OpenAI safety employee, a board member who voted to fire Altman, and Columbia Law School former dean David Schizer as nonprofit governance expert — each testified that OpenAI was not properly fulfilling its nonprofit mission. Schizer provided expert testimony on customary practices of nonprofit corporations with for-profit subsidiaries. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers expects the liability phase to conclude by May 21.
