Execution Lineage: DAG-Based Replay Eliminates Cross-Branch Contamination in Agent Workflows

Rosen & Rosen propose replacing implicit conversational state in agent loops with a DAG of computations with explicit dependencies. In policy-memo update tasks, DAG replay achieved zero churn and zero unrelated-branch contamination, while loop baselines frequently regenerated content. Only DAG replay preserved upstream artifacts, propagated downstream changes, and maintained cross-artifact consistency.
