Storyboard18 reports Mythos 5 was suspended June 12 and only partially restored after two weeks of negotiation, codified in Secretary Lutnick's June 26 letter. No license is now required to export Mythos to Anthropic's US entities and their foreign-national employees, US civilian agencies, and national labs. Everyone else still needs a license. This is the first real-world test of Washington's new frontier-AI review process, and the precedent is that the government can now switch a frontier model off and dictate who gets it back.
