Google priced Nano Banana 2 Lite at $0.034 per 1,000 images, per the DeepMind blog. The model, formally Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite Image, generates images in as little as four seconds and runs live in AI Studio, the Gemini API, AI Mode, and the Gemini app.
At that price, testing five or ten variants of a single prompt costs a fraction of a cent. For a developer wiring image generation into a product, that math changes what gets built: a feature that once needed a budget line can run inside a loop.
Google paired the release with Gemini Omni Flash, a video generation and conversational-editing model in public preview. It prices video at $0.10 a second, matching Veo 3.1 Fast, and caps clips at 10 seconds.
Both models run live in the same surfaces developers already have open: AI Studio and the Gemini API. At $0.034 per 1,000 images, testing costs next to nothing, and that price is what will drive developer habit more than any quality gain in the model itself. The open question is whether Google holds this pricing once usage scales, or whether $0.034 per 1,000 images turns out to be an introductory rate.
