Human-readable session names make it far easier to reattach to the right background agent, and attachments are now clickable in-session.
Why now: The change surfaced in Claude Code's update tracking on July 2, 2026.
Claude Code now lets organizations pin one default model across every account, according to an update tracked by ReleaseBot.
For teams running Claude Code across many seats, individual configs tend to drift over time. One person's stuck on an older model, another's burning tokens on something heavier than the job needs. A single org-wide default closes that gap.
The same release gives sessions human-readable names. Juggling a dozen background agents turns "which session was that" into a real tax, and named sessions fix it, per the update.
Attachments inside a session are also clickable now. It's a small change, but small changes add up when you're switching between agents all day.
I've lost track of a background agent before, unsure which session was even the right one. None of this is a big feature on its own. Together they read like Claude Code is finally built for people running a dozen agents at once, not just one or two.
I'd bet the org-wide model default is the one that actually gets used. It's built for teams standardizing configs across seats, not solo builders running a couple of sessions at a time.
