The export API lets you pull real usage-based routing and latency numbers instead of trusting vendor benchmarks.
Why now: Vercel's changelog landed the same week broader doubts about vendor benchmark integrity were making the rounds.
Vercel opened the usage data behind its AI Gateway leaderboards under a CC BY 4.0 license, per its changelog.
Teams picking a model provider can now check real routing and latency numbers instead of trusting a vendor's self-graded benchmark chart. Get the pick wrong on latency, and you're the one debugging it in production.
The change adds an export API. Query or download the same data driving the leaderboards, then build your own charts. No dashboard needed.
Open, usage-based comparison data across model providers is rare. Most benchmark numbers still come from a vendor's own test suite, graded by that same vendor.
It's still one company's traffic, not the whole market. The changelog doesn't say how much volume backs each number, or how requests break down across providers.
If you're choosing a model provider for a real workload, pull this data yourself. Check latency under your own load pattern before you trust anyone's slide deck.
