Anthropic and Blackstone bet implementation beats models

Ode is hiring about 100 engineers, more than half former founders, to embed inside customer companies and build Claude-first systems, TechCrunch reported July 15.

The joint venture pairs Anthropic with Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman and Goldman Sachs at a 1.5 billion dollar valuation. CEO Chris Taylor says he can see it becoming a trillion-dollar company if it executes well.

OpenAI runs a parallel services arm chasing the same bet. Both labs are reading the same signal: model ownership doesn't guarantee deployment revenue, and that revenue is where consulting firms make their money.
