The new dashboard tracks tokens, cache hit rate, and active users per coding agent, no extra setup for Claude Code.
Why now: AWS's launch post is dated July 2026, the same window this briefing covers.
AWS shipped CloudWatch Coding Agent Insights, a dashboard tracking token spend and usage across Claude Code, Codex, and Copilot. It's the first cloud-native answer to a question most teams have tracked by hand: who gets expanded access, and what the token budget should be.
The console pulls in OpenTelemetry metrics: total tokens, dollar cost, active users, session counts, cache hit rate, and active hours. It sits next to whatever else a team already watches in CloudWatch.
Claude Code's telemetry collects automatically, with no extra instrumentation, through the Claude apps gateway for AWS. Codex and Copilot metrics land in the same console too.
Engineering managers sizing agent budgets get a real number instead of a guess. Teams burning heavy tokens with weak cache hit rates get easier to spot too.
Coverage stops short of three regions: UAE, Bahrain, and Tel Aviv are excluded from the rollout, and AWS doesn't say why. Worth watching whether other clouds ship a similar view, since for now this lives only inside CloudWatch.

wanshuiyin/HERO-Anti-OverDefense went from creation to 68 stars in a single day. HERO is Hashing, Edge cases, Rubrics, Overbuild, and the claim is that agent over-engineering isn't diffuse but falls into four recognizable shapes suppressible with a portable prompt contract acr...
JuliusBrussee/caveman hit 54,000+ GitHub stars in under three weeks and topped Hacker News. The repo is exactly what it sounds like: a skill that strips agent verbosity, kills the "I'd be happy to help" preamble, and makes Claude answer in terse, near-grunt prose while keeping...

Stewardship moved to the Agentic AI Foundation under the Linux Foundation, with 30+ tools reading it natively: Claude Code, Copilot, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, Devin, Aider, Amazon Q (BuildBetter). Claude Code reads AGENTS.md in addition to CLAUDE.md, which stays its...
The July 2026 update (v1.127-v1.131) runs each agent session against an isolated checkout, and it spans all three agents rather than being Copilot-only. Also: redesigned Agents window with side-by-side code review and chat, subagent tracking showing model, elapsed time and act...
The TypeScript project compiles a repository into an explorable, searchable graph you can ask questions against, with the explicit framing "graphs that teach beat graphs that impress." It targets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot. Directly relevant if your agent currentl...
