Slide generation on GitHub split into two incompatible camps: one native PowerPoint, one HTML.

The stakes are the handoff: one survives being emailed to a colleague who'll edit it, the other breaks the moment it leaves its browser. ppt-master has drawn about 40,700 GitHub stars to guizang-ppt-skill's roughly 22,200.

hugohe3's ppt-master, written in Python, generates native PowerPoint files with real shapes, transitions, and data-backed charts, per its repo. It can also produce audio narration pulled straight from speaker notes.

op7418's guizang-ppt-skill isn't a standalone app. It's an agent skill that emits editorial-magazine and Swiss-layout HTML decks running on a WebGL runtime.

ppt-master's PPTX files open correctly in PowerPoint and survive being emailed to a colleague who'll edit them. They also carry the data-backed charts and narrated audio the whole way through, per the repo. An HTML deck can't do any of that once it leaves the browser it was built for.

The choice comes down to who touches the file next, not which output looks better on screen. A deck a client will edit in PowerPoint needs ppt-master's format, full stop. A deck presented once, live, in a browser you control can afford guizang-ppt-skill's sharper HTML.
