Agent Patterns, covering multi-agent orchestration, tops the taxonomy of the new site, which replaces the anthropic-cookbook GitHub repo.
Why now: The relaunch had reached 316 points on Hacker News as of July 25.
Anthropic moved its Claude Cookbook off GitHub and onto platform.claude.com, doubling the recipe count past 100, per the new site.
Developers lose the informal GitHub repo, which held around 50 examples, but gain a documented, contributable reference built around a year of Claude releases.
The new taxonomy covers the Claude Agent SDK, Managed Agents, extended thinking, programmatic tool calling, prompt caching, and batching. It adds domain tracks for cybersecurity, observability, and incident response, plus Skills recipes for working with Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF files.
Agent Patterns leads that taxonomy: multi-agent systems, workflows, and orchestration recipes sit ahead of every other category, per the site.
That ordering is the tell. Anthropic built its name on a single chat API, and its own recipe hierarchy puts coordinating multiple agents ahead of everything else it documents. Watch whether the next wave of Claude Agent SDK docs assumes multi-agent orchestration as the starting point rather than an advanced topic.

Anthropic invented a file convention. It's now shipping GA inside a competitor's product. Nobody wrote a spec, nobody held a standards meeting, it just happened. On July 29, GitHub made agent skills and MCP server support generally available in Copilot code review for all Pro,...
Three separate Anthropic changes over about two weeks point the same direction, and none of them announced themselves as a strategy. Claude Code 2.1.238 added claude self-hosted-runner --defer-shutdown-max-min, which keeps serving attached sessions on SIGTERM, parks whatever's...
Anthropic published implementation details for new autonomy features: a Checkpoint System that auto-saves state before every edit (revert with /rewind), a native VS Code extension beta, Background Tasks for persistent dev servers, and the Claude Code SDK officially renamed to...
Anthropic's official skill guide formalizes a three-stage system: metadata (~100 tokens) is always loaded; Claude decides whether to load full content based only on metadata; full skill loads on demand. Skill libraries scale without token cost. The anthropics/skills repo reach...
Anthropic shipped the most comprehensive enterprise agent platform update to date: 13 new MCP connectors (Google Workspace, DocuSign, Apollo, Clay, Outreach, FactSet, LegalZoom, WordPress, Harvey), 10 department-specific plugin templates, private plugin marketplaces backed by...
Anthropic's Agent Skills standard (agentskills.io), launched December 2025, has been adopted by Microsoft, OpenAI, Cursor, GitHub, Atlassian, and Figma. Skills are directories with SKILL.md files that agents discover and load dynamically. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and Curso...
