The same release also stabilizes AG-UI and adds Cosmos DB memory storage that tracks which session each memory came from.
Why now: The breaking release notes are what's on GitHub's Agent Framework changelog as of July 25, 2026.
Microsoft's Agent Framework ships breaking changes in both its Python and .NET SDKs, per the project's GitHub release notes. Teams running the framework in production face two dependency trees to repin instead of one: .NET integrations need the split-out packages, and Python integrations need retesting against a tool-call replay fix before anyone upgrades.
The .NET break comes from version 1.14.0, which splits the legacy AGUI package into separate external SDK packages, carried through into 1.15.0. Anyone still importing the old package has to switch over.
On the Python side, 1.12.x changes how the framework replays reasoning-paired tool calls in stateless mode. That's the piece integrations need to retest before moving up.
The same release promotes AG-UI from release candidate to stable, even as the package that ships it splits apart into separate SDKs.
Harness agent, the framework's mode and todo providers, and its tool approval flow all graduate out of experimental status as well.
Microsoft also added an Azure Cosmos DB context provider for semantic memory, with attribution for which session each memory originated from, and gave GPT-5.6 models explicit prompt cache breakpoints.
On .NET, 1.15.0 adds a Dapr agent provider example and hardens credentials used in workflows.
