RyanCodrai/turbovec (MIT, Rust core with Python bindings) hit 14,151 stars implementing TurboQuant: a random rotation making every coordinate follow a known distribution regardless of input data, then per-coordinate calibration, Lloyd-Max scalar quantization and bit-packing for 16x compression at 1536 dimensions. Results: 0.2-1.9 points better R@1 than FAISS IndexPQ across 2-bit and 4-bit configs on OpenAI embeddings, 10-19% higher QPS than FAISS FastScan on ARM, ~5% faster on x86 4-bit but slower on x86 2-bit. Integrations for LangChain, LlamaIndex, Haystack and Agno. The data-oblivious property is the real win: it removes the calibration step that makes PQ indexes brittle when your embedding distribution shifts.

The project positions against Cluely, Otter, Granola, and Fireflies with a Rust system-audio layer that works across Zoom, Teams, Meet, Slack, and Discord without per-app integrations. Transcripts, embeddings, and keys stay on the machine by default, with local RAG over past m...
Eight thousand stars in a single day. That's what happened when Warp open-sourced its Rust-based, GPU-accelerated terminal on April 28. The repo shot to 47.9K total stars, making it the highest-velocity project on GitHub this week by a wide margin. But the interesting part isn...
The IDE market is fragmenting, and this week drew the sharpest lines yet. Cursor 3 launched as a rebuilt agent-orchestration platform in Rust and TypeScript, replacing the VS Code fork with an Agents Window for dispatching and monitoring multiple AI coding agents. Anysphere hi...
CLI, IDE extension, macOS app, and Codex Web all sit on the same harness, linked by a bidirectional JSON-RPC-over-stdio process that hosts core threads and translates client requests into Codex operations. Partners have written clients in Go, Python, TypeScript, Swift, and Kot...
This Rust harness (+2,585 stars) competes on resource footprint rather than features: 27.8 MB PSS for a single session with local embedding disabled, claimed 13.9× less than Claude Code and 6× less than jcode's own embedding-enabled mode. Time-to-first-frame 14.0ms against a c...
Xiaomi released MiMo-V2.5-Pro, a 1.02 trillion parameter mixture-of-experts model (42B active) with 1M token context, fully MIT licensed. In benchmarks, it achieves 63.8% success on agentic tasks using 40-60% fewer tokens than Claude Opus 4.6 or GPT-5.4 for comparable results....
