Matt Pocock's personal .agents directory grew to 191,433 GitHub stars, up 12,682 in the week before July 27, per the repo.

That kind of growth turns a personal skills folder into a real install decision for engineering teams running AI coding agents against production codebases. The repo has 16.5k forks and 314 commits, so plenty of teams are already pulling it into their own workflows.

The install choice matters more than the star count

Run /plugin install mattpocock-skills@mattpocock instead and you get a managed, read-only bundle that updates whenever Pocock updates his. His advice: copy if you're going to edit, managed if you just want the updates.

A managed bundle only pays off as long as Pocock's defaults match how your team already works. The moment a skill needs different behavior for your repo's conventions, the read-only version can't follow, and you're back to the copy path anyway.
