Scientific skills library runs across five AI coding tools

K-Dense AI's scientific-agent-skills library has grown to 156 skills, according to its GitHub repository. They cover 78-plus chemistry, genomics, clinical, pathway and patent databases.

The database count isn't the interesting part. These skills run on Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Google Antigravity and Pi, five separate AI coding tools built by five different companies. Anthropic built the Agent Skills format for Claude Code. Watching it get picked up by direct competitors like Cursor and Codex is the real signal here.

The project also touches cheminformatics, drug discovery, proteomics, clinical research, medical imaging, materials science and geospatial analysis. Its maintainers say more than 170,000 scientists already use it, per the repo.

The repo doesn't say how that user count splits across the five hosts.

A skills format only proves itself as a standard once it runs on tools its creator doesn't control. Agent Skills clearing that bar on Cursor and Codex, not just Claude Code, is what's worth watching next. If the next major scientific or engineering skills library launches Claude-Code-only, that's the format losing ground, not gaining it.
