The releases follow a $2B raise that pushed Cognition's valuation to $48B, up from $10B four months earlier.
Why now: The burst arrived four months after the $48B valuation, a fast turnaround for post-raise product work.
Cognition released SWE-2 on September 10, then followed with Fusion and Devin Voice a day later, per Cognition's blog.
The releases follow a $2B round led by a16z and Accel that valued Cognition at $48B, up from $10B four months earlier. Run-rate revenue rose from about $492M in May to about $900M over the same span.
SWE-2 pushes what Cognition calls the Pareto frontier of capability against inference cost, with separate settings for how much effort the model spends. Fusion followed it into Devin Desktop and the CLI on September 11.
Devin Voice launched the same day on Product Hunt at #8 with 120 votes. It pairs GPT-Live for conversation with SWE-2 for coding, and it's interruptible mid-sentence, under the tagline "You say it, Devin ships it."
A day-apart release cycle is fast for a company that closed a $2B round four months earlier. Watch whether Fusion and Devin Voice show up in Cognition's next revenue disclosure, or whether SWE-2 alone was doing the work.

SWE-2 is RL-trained on the 2.8T-parameter Kimi K3 base, with three effort levels trained in a single run. It scores 50.0% on FrontierCode 1.1 Main to Fable 5.1's 50.9%, and 92.8% on Terminal-Bench 2.1. On Terminal-Bench 4 it drops to 27.3%, while Fable 5.1 scores 55.8% and GPT...
SpaceXAI released Grok 4.5 on July 8, and for once the vendor hype and the third-party numbers point roughly the same direction. Musk called it "roughly comparable to Opus 4.7, but much faster." Priced at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output, that's over 60% b...
The RSA-250 factoring record had stood since February 2020. Cognition broke it on September 9, splitting RSA-260 into two 130-digit primes with a GPU-optimized General Number Field Sieve implementation that Devin wrote. The cost sheet is what makes this a real story instead of...
After the Windsurf-to-Devin-Desktop rebrand, Cognition now includes Devin Review at no extra cost, in a fast PR-scan mode and a deeper reasoning mode, paired with Spaces for shared agent context (Devin). Existing Windsurf installs got it as an over-the-air update with plans an...
Cognition shipped an over-the-air update on June 2 that rebranded Windsurf to Devin Desktop and auto-ported everyone's settings (Devin/Cognition). Cascade, the agent a lot of people actually chose Windsurf for, is deprecated. End of life July 1, 2026. In its place: Devin Local...
For about a year the ambient message has been "coding is mostly solved." SWE-Bench numbers crept past 50%, vendors put them on slides, and a lot of people quietly concluded the hard part was over. Cognition just dropped a bucket of cold water on that. On June 8 they launched F...
