Sales data, dev docs, mobile QA, security and infra tools all picked an agent's tool list as the storefront instead of a web dashboard.
Why now: Product Hunt's daily leaderboards for September 11 and 12 both went to MCP-first tools.
Anysite.io took the number one spot on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard on September 11 with 451 votes. It sells B2B company and contact data over MCP or REST, pitched to work "inside Claude, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode" with no scrapers to maintain.
That pitch is the story. If the buyer is an agent picking from a tool list instead of a person clicking through a dashboard, the API becomes the whole product and the web UI becomes optional.
Cortex took the top spot the next day with 151 votes, turning one API spec into SDKs, docs, and an MCP server from a single config file. QApilot placed third on the same leaderboard with 117 votes, putting Android app testing inside a coding agent instead of a separate test runner.
Stroq and KyttoMCP showed up on Hacker News in the same stretch: an MCP-output firewall and an MCP server manager. Sales data, developer docs, mobile QA, security, infrastructure management. None of these categories need each other, and none of them used to ship as a protocol server first.
Pricing is the gap nobody's filled. A Show HN post the same day asked whether anyone compares MCP servers by price. Nobody's built that comparison page, because most of these tools don't have a price yet. A market moving faster than its own pricing page usually means the vendors haven't agreed on how to charge for agent access, not that access stays free.
