Tencent's WeKnora rebuilds RAG as a living wiki

Tencent released WeKnora, an open-source tool that turns documents into a queryable RAG index. The project also keeps a companion wiki current as those source documents change, so retrieval isn't starting from zero on every question.

For teams building retrieval tools, that's a different default. The store updates itself and keeps context between runs, so the system isn't re-deriving the same answers from scratch each time. Heavier upkeep, in exchange for less redundant work at query time.

The repo has 22,521 stars, 3,233 forks, 749 open issues, and gained 226 more stars on September 12. Two other projects on the same GitHub trending list take the same shape. nashsu/llm_wiki has 18,975 stars for a similar self-maintaining store. hyperresearch gained 712 stars in a single day, now at 2,930 total. Its agents write findings into a persistent research wiki, not a chat log that disappears when the session ends.
