CVE-2026-14916 (7.7) affects Kong components validating JWTs for MCP OAuth2 or DataKit integrations. The code never checks that the signing algorithm is compatible with the key type used for verification, so an unauthenticated remote attacker crafts a forged JWT that validates. Classic algorithm confusion, now sitting directly in front of MCP traffic for everyone who put Kong there as the auth boundary.
