CVE-2026-64684 (6.8) covers StreamableHttpClientTransport building its default client with no redirect policy override, so reqwest's default limited(10) follows 307 and 308. Caller-supplied custom_headers like X-API-Key, X-Auth-Token and Api-Key are never marked sensitive, so unlike Authorization and Cookie they go to the redirect target verbatim. Affects ≤1.7.0, patched in 2.1.0. Pass an API key as a custom header to an MCP endpoint you don't control and assume it's been offered to every redirect that endpoint picked.

Between September 14 and September 15, NVD published seven entries hitting MCP infrastructure. I read all of them expecting to find something clever. There's nothing clever in any of them. CVE-2026-57124, 9.8, published September 14. PraisonAI's default UI exposes POST /api/mc...
The Model Context Protocol has a security problem that's no longer theoretical — it's statistical. Between January and February 2026, researchers filed 30+ CVEs against MCP servers, clients, and infrastructure. One package with nearly 500,000 downloads carried a CVSS 9.6 RCE....
upstash/context7 (60,590 stars) shipped @upstash/[redacted] on August 7 on the 2026-07-28 protocol revision. HTTP serving is now stateless for both modern and legacy clients, and Redis-backed sessions are gone, which is a real operational simplification for anyone self-hosting...
Three separate Anthropic changes over about two weeks point the same direction, and none of them announced themselves as a strategy. Claude Code 2.1.238 added claude self-hosted-runner --defer-shutdown-max-min, which keeps serving attached sessions on SIGTERM, parks whatever's...
Ten days from spec to shipped client. That's fast even for this ecosystem. The MCP 2026-07-28 revision replaced the bidirectional stateful protocol with request/response. Every request now independently carries protocol version, client identity and capabilities. Cloudflare's t...
The trick is one line in a file you never read. Manifold Security published eight findings across seven coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, Qwen Code, goose, Hermes Agent) that all reduce to the same mechanism. A repository's own .git/config sets core.fsmoni...
