arXiv 2609.18391 points out conventional software composition analysis reads one stage (a manifest, a container, a runtime snapshot) and can't say both where a component came from and where it ended up, because dependencies get resolved, removed, repackaged and transformed in between. SCA-Agent adaptively explores project-specific analysis paths, gathers stage-specific evidence, and correlates it to recover identities, versions, introduction paths, propagation relationships and final states. On 105 real Java, JavaScript and Python projects it had the highest detection F1 at every stage and ecosystem, reaching 96.69% F1 on vulnerability exposure assessment. If your SBOM comes from a single manifest scan, that gap is your blind spot.

Released September 5. Python definitions differing only by leading underscores (_get_connection against get_connection) collided and one got dropped. Inherits/implements/references edges were fabricated from symbols owning no node, like a class nested in a named function, leak...
Data that contradicts the vibe. That's rare enough to lead with. Dipongkor, Baral, Lam and Moran analyzed 4,882 pull requests from five coding agents in the AIDev dataset (532 Java, 4,350 Python), accepted to ICSME 2026. The findings, in order of how much they should change yo...
Prospective memory, carrying out a deferred intention at the right future cue, is schema-constrained state tracking, so the Prospective Intention Store puts lifecycle logic in code and leaves scoped language work to the model. On PM-Bench, where the best published scaffold rea...
On September 10 OpenAI opened the Agents API to every developer as a public beta. It exposes what runs Codex as a managed service, and it covers most of the plumbing people have been writing by hand on top of the Responses API. The design has four parts: an Agent, an optional...
The release shadows JS/TS for...of/for...in bindings so they stop fabricating indirect_call edges, resolves Python relative subpackage imports to the package __init__, and stops a FIFO or device node from hanging extraction. It also stamps built_at_commit from the analysed rep...
Released July 31: fromFedoraImage, fromAlpineImage, fromArchImage plus Python equivalents, with the orchestrator identifying distro from /etc/os-release. Fedora and Alpine pin to fedora:44 and alpine:3.24 for reproducibility; Arch tracks latest since provisioning runs pacman -...
