Flet 1.0 packages Python's full data stack for mobile

Flet released its 1.0 build on September 15, four years after the project's debut. It's a Python framework for building GUIs that run on desktop, web, iOS and Android from one codebase. The 1.0 rewrite bundles CPython 3.12, 3.13 or 3.14 directly into the packaged app.

That matters for anyone who's wanted to put real data code behind a mobile screen without rewriting it in Swift or Kotlin. Because Flet packages the actual interpreter, it also maintains mobile builds for NumPy, pandas, Pillow, SciPy and cryptography. A script that loads a CSV with pandas can now sit inside an iOS or Android app, tied to this release rather than some vague present tense.

The project has about 16,700 GitHub stars, roughly 100 contributors, and more than 9 million PyPI downloads. This isn't a fresh experiment reaching for attention. It's a four-year-old framework crossing a threshold it was built toward from the start.

What the announcement doesn't say is app size or startup time. A packaged CPython interpreter plus SciPy is not a small binary. Anyone testing this for a shipping app should measure install size and cold start before committing, because that cost has to land somewhere and Flet hasn't published the number.
