The Office of Defects Investigation is examining the aftermarket hands-off ACC and lane-centering system over crashes where devices failed to detect or respond to slow or stopped vehicles. One case was a February 2026 RAV4 running the FrogPilot fork that struck a stationary police car in Louisiana. Comma's own documentation acknowledges the stopped-vehicle limitation (TechCrunch). The same comma hardware ran this week's DrivingBench LLM driving test, which is a coincidence of hardware, not of safety claims, but it's a useful reminder of what the physical layer under those demos is rated for.
