The core design choice is how agents drive the browser. Instead of CLI commands and read-back responses, ego-lite exposes browser actions as JavaScript functions the agent calls directly. ego-lite runs agents in isolated "Spaces" that work in parallel with your own tabs. It also offers an opt-in migration that pulls in your existing Chrome cookies, logins, and extensions. Accept it and the agent inherits whatever accounts you're logged into, no separate authentication required.
The isolation between Spaces and your live browsing session is doing a lot of work here. GitHub's page doesn't detail how that boundary holds up once an agent is handed a full cookie jar.
Skipping re-authentication is convenient for demos and genuinely faster to set up. It also means any prompt injection or bad agent decision inherits whatever access you already had, no additional permission check required.
Watch whether ego-lite or its forks publish a security model for the Chrome migration feature specifically, separate from the general isolated-Spaces pitch. That's the gap between "agents can browse for you" and "agents can act as you."
