Salesforce says Agentforce now handles up to half of certain internal support work, even as it sells the same agents.
Why now: The $1.2 billion ARR figure and the June 10 WARN filing for 86 layoffs landed in the same reporting cycle, giving the AI-replaces-jobs argument a balance-sheet number instead of a forecast.
Salesforce reported $1.2 billion in Agentforce annual recurring revenue for Q1 FY2027, up 205% year over year. It filed a WARN notice for 86 layoffs on June 10, its third round since September 2025, per EnterpriseDNA.
The company says Agentforce now handles up to half of certain internal support-work categories, the same product it also sells to customers. That gives workers watching AI-linked layoffs, and rival vendors selling competing agents, something concrete to point to, not a hypothetical.
Underneath the layoffs is a pricing shift. Salesforce charges $2 per resolved ticket through its Agentforce Help Agent. Fini, a smaller AI-native support challenger, charges $0.69 per resolution and nothing for escalations, per Fini Labs.
Two vendors at very different scale landing on the same per-resolution metric means the category has settled on its unit of value. Support ROI is now a cost-per-resolution number, not a seats-and-licenses guess.
The catch, per SaaStr: agent revenue churns harder than seat-based SaaS. Prompts and configs are portable, and buyers won't sign multi-year deals. AI-native products under $250 a month run about 45% gross revenue retention, against a roughly 60% SaaS norm.
SaaStr's math shows the same gap at a stickier retention level. A $100 million ARR agent company holding 82% gross revenue retention still loses about $18 million a year, roughly double a traditional SaaS peer.
The actionable read for builders: if you're shipping agents, the moat is workflow lock-in, not the model or the prompt. If a customer can rebuild your product in a weekend, you're renting revenue, not earning it.
