Moxie's servers went dark for good in June, the second time its maker collapsed since 2024, per MIT Technology Review. The clinical case for the robot was thin from the start. A study by Brian Scassellati found gains from using Moxie disappeared within 30 days of taking it away.
Embodied built the 15-inch robot as a social-skills companion for autistic kids, then collapsed in 2024.
