Fetching from the wire…

The open-source tool schedules Claude Code and Codex to place Robinhood trades, turning a regulated category into an agent loop with no app.
Why now: OpenTrade and Omni landed on the same Aug. 17 Product Hunt leaderboard, both built as scheduled agent loops instead of apps.
OpenTrade lets Claude Code and Codex place Robinhood trades on a schedule, and it climbed to #7 on Product Hunt's daily leaderboard on Aug. 17 with 100 upvotes.
The tool turns a regulated category, trading, into a scheduled agent loop with no interface of its own. Omni used the same shape to top the list at #1. A traditional product in this category comes with a compliance team, but OpenTrade skipped that and shipped as open-source code instead.
The pattern is simple: the broker becomes an API, the agent becomes the app, and the harness that wires them together is the product. Robinhood already exposes the trade execution. OpenTrade just adds scheduling, notifications, and a coding agent that decides when to fire.
Whether that's a good idea for actual money is a separate question. The Product Hunt listing doesn't say how OpenTrade handles order sizing, risk limits, or what happens when Claude Code or Codex misreads a signal.
Once the harness pattern works in a regulated category like trading, the compliance team stops being a prerequisite for shipping. It becomes optional, something nobody has written yet. Watch whether OpenTrade or its forks add guardrails before the first bad trade forces the question.
Two products, Omni and OpenTrade, made the same architectural bet on the same Aug. 17 leaderboard.
