Memory, cost tracking, and voice input are shipping as separate products, and Microsoft's CEO says that's the point.
Why now: The Product Hunt leaderboard, Nadella's earnings-call comments, and the GitHub star surges for cc-switch, manifest, and agentacct all landed in the same week ending July 30.
Agent infrastructure claimed five of Product Hunt's top seven launches on July 30, per the site's daily leaderboard. That's memory, cost accounting, voice input, and persistent project knowledge, unbundled into five separate products in one day. It reads like a supplier ecosystem forming on top of a single platform, your coding agent harness.
SKI (277 upvotes) is free voice input for Claude Code and Codex. AI Search Console (249) does prompt analytics and citation mapping. Memmy Agent (240) is a shared memory layer for every AI tool on your machine. LangWatch's Claude Code cost tracker (194) shows per-session spend. Greplica (114) keeps a self-updating wiki for coding agents. Only Pally (141) and NINA (169) are conventional apps.
Two of these are worth installing. Memmy Agent, from the MemOS team, ships a local memory layer. Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, OpenClaw, and Hermes Agent can all read and write to it. Agents build on each other's context instead of starting cold every session. It's local-first, with no forced cloud sync.
LangWatch's tracker runs on one npx langwatch claude command. That turns on Claude Code's native OpenTelemetry export, so each session lands as a trace with model turns, tool calls, and cost. Sessions on a Pro, Max, or Team plan get tagged Bundled. They're assigned a theoretical total priced at API list rates, showing the shadow cost inside a flat monthly fee. It rides OTLP instead of local logs, so it survives across machines and log cleanups.
The same argument showed up twice more in the week ending July 30. Nadella told Microsoft's July 29 earnings call that you have to keep your harness separate from the model. That way, any model stays swappable, across a catalogue he put at over 11,000. On GitHub, farion1231/cc-switch manages config for six coding harnesses from one Rust app. mnfst/manifest has 7,340 stars doing the same from the provider side. mikehasa/agentacct hit 534 stars in six days by labeling every cost figure exact, high, medium, or low. That beats treating an agent's own claim like a passed test.

Spotify's Portal team published Xirp on August 10: a vendor-neutral agentic development environment that manages concurrent sessions across Claude Code, Gemini CLI, and Codex, each session isolated in its own git worktree so dozens of agents can work the same codebase without...
QM went up under MIT license. Created July 29. As of the GitHub API check: 8,420 stars, 887 forks. Five days. YC uses it internally across accounting, legal, events, and engineering, including to build QM itself. Every employee and every Slack room gets its own scoped memory,...
The IDE market is fragmenting, and this week drew the sharpest lines yet. Cursor 3 launched as a rebuilt agent-orchestration platform in Rust and TypeScript, replacing the VS Code fork with an Agents Window for dispatching and monitoring multiple AI coding agents. Anysphere hi...
open-design is a local-first macOS/Windows/Linux desktop app that turns your existing coding agent into a design engine, producing prototypes, landing pages, dashboards, slides, images, and video with real HTML/PDF/PPTX/MP4 export. It runs on 25 distinct local CLI executables...
Three things happened this month that only make sense together. Agent Plugins 1.0 shipped co-signed by six competitors: AWS, Anysphere, Microsoft, OpenAI, Vercel and Google (GitHub Changelog). It makes skills-plus-MCP bundles portable across clients. OpenAI's August 11 Codex c...
Warp released its client codebase under AGPL-3.0, surged to 56,000 GitHub stars and #2 on GitHub Trending. But the real story isn't the open-sourcing. It's the repositioning. Warp isn't calling itself a terminal anymore. It's an "agentic development environment." The product n...
