Google's Gemini Enterprise editions ship with no app

Google Cloud launched two Gemini Enterprise editions on August 25, and neither one has a screen to open. If the sellable product is a skill pack and a connector set, the thing worth owning is the data pipe into a bank's market feeds or a law firm's document system, not the interface sitting on top of it.

Gemini Enterprise for Financial Services went to preview with CME Group and Deutsche Bank as design partners. It's built around a managed Financial Research agent, more than 50 reusable skills, and 13 connectors into market data, news feeds, regulatory filings, and internal databases. Third-party agents from D&B, FlowX, Obin, and S&P Global plug in directly.

The same day, Gemini Enterprise for Legal launched with Cleary Gottlieb, Freshfields, Weil, and Williams & Connolly. It ships pre-built agents for contract review, diligence, regulatory monitoring, and privacy requests, plus ethical walls and matter permissions.

Both editions share one shape: a managed domain agent, a skill library, MCP connectors into the systems of record, A2A APIs for agent-to-agent calls, and an open slot for partner agents. No workflow builder, no dashboard to configure.

Google doesn't need to out-build a legal tech vendor's interface. It needs the connector into the firm's data, and it's letting incumbents keep showing up as agents inside its runtime instead of replacing them outright.

Healthcare and life sciences are next. Watch whether that edition's connector list names specific EHR or claims systems the way finance names market data feeds. That's the tell for how far Google intends to push into regulated data plumbing versus just renting agents shelf space.
