GitHub profiled the project at roughly 388,000 stars and over 80,000 commits, grown from a weekend project Peter Steinberger started in November 2025 (GitHub Blog). Contributors were duplicating pull requests to manufacture credibility, which forced the team to stop treating contribution counts as a trust signal and start requiring agent transcripts, screenshots and testing evidence with each PR. Their rule: nobody cares whether you wrote the code, only whether you thought about the feature.
