Only 28 of 161 product categories return the same top pick from every model, the rest split by which model answers.
Why now: The tracker's full set of prompts and answers is open for inspection as of September 8.
Seven frontier models recommend their own products first, per the Frontier AEO Tracker.
Only 28 of 161 categories return the same first choice across all seven models. For the rest, which model a customer opens decides what product they hear about first.
The tracker ran six prompt variations per category and publishes every prompt-answer pair for inspection. Source counts per answer vary by model too: Astra pulls a median of 5 sources per query, Sol pulls 9, Opus 11, Fable 15.
Astra's answers are also the hardest to shift with light paraphrasing of the same question. That points to a narrower, more fixed set of go-to sources, not a model re-searching from scratch each time.
The tracker's operators found that markdown formatting and content negotiation change which sources get cited. Getting cited by a 5-source model like Astra likely takes a different fix than getting cited by a 15-source model like Fable. The tracker doesn't say which formatting changes worked for which model.

Per-token prices went down at both labs. Subscriptions are draining faster at both labs. Those aren't in tension once you look at token counts. On the OpenAI side, r/OpenAI collected reports from Linux.do and NodeSeek alleging Astra consumes more Plus quota than its published...
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1 on September 1. Claude Code v2.1.257 made it the default Fable model at 17:53 UTC that day, with a 1M-token context window, $10 per million input tokens, $50 per million output, and $0.25 per million on cache reads (claude-code CHANGELOG). B...
67 on coding against Fable 5.1's 70 in Claude Code. Astra does post a 2% hallucination rate against 9.4% for GPT-5.6 Sol, and 0% scope violations against 48%. Per-task cost runs the other way, $4.72 for Astra against $9.18 for Fable 5.1 at identical $10/$50 list pricing, and A...

Astra can take an experimental idea, implement it in OpenAI's codebase, run the experiment and report results, and can follow up on a paper in work that used to take a human researcher about a week. Altman told TIME the company is "not quite yet" at AGI but will declare it int...
Anthropic commissioned the independent evaluator to test 72 injection scenarios, held out from Anthropic, each run 10 times against Fable 5, Opus 5, and Sonnet 5 as of July 17. Clean sweep. TechCrunch has the details. A third-party held-out eval is a much stronger claim than i...
