The consolidation of Semantic Kernel and AutoGen into a single framework reached RC2 for Python, with GA targeted soon. Stable API surface with renamed core types (ChatAgent→Agent, ChatMessage→Message), long-running agent support, background responses, and streaming code interpreter deltas. Migration guides from both predecessor frameworks are published with .NET and Python parity. If you're on either Semantic Kernel or AutoGen, migration planning should start now. GitHub
