It runs many Claude Code and Codex instances at once but trails kilocode by 13,000-plus GitHub stars.
Why now: Traycer added 255 stars in the same week Superset opened its canary on August 5.
Superset tagged its desktop-v1.18.3 stable release on August 2, then opened a rolling canary channel three days later, per its GitHub repo.
A three-day gap between a stable tag and a public canary says the multi-agent editor category is iterating faster than a normal release train supports. Anyone who upgraded on August 2 built their agent workflow on a release the team itself didn't fully trust days later.
On GitHub, the project sits at 12,784 stars and 1,159 forks. Kilocode has 26,715 stars, more than double that count. Traycer, smaller at 1,067 stars, added 255 of them in the past week.
The repo doesn't say whether 1.18.3 has known issues or whether the canary is meant to project constant shipping while kilocode holds the star lead.
Three days is too fast for real quality testing, so this reads more like Superset chasing kilocode's star lead than fixing bugs in 1.18.3. Watch whether the canary channel produces a real changelog of fixes, or just repackages 1.18.3 under a new label.

cristicretu/diri (217 stars, Rust, Apache-2.0, pushed August 7) runs multiple coding agents and shells concurrently across worktrees and remote hosts. Worktree isolation is the mechanism keeping parallel agents from clobbering each other's edits, and it's the correct primitive...
Beyond Yegge's Gas Town, Superset ("run an army of Claude Code, Codex"), agent-of-empires, and LobeHub's "Chief Agent Operator" all target managing many concurrent agents across harnesses, increasingly from mobile. The emerging UX problem is monitoring and steering dozens of p...
superset-sh/superset tagged desktop-v1.24.1 and 1.24.2 on August 21 and a canary on August 23, at 13,242 stars. 1.24.2 adds a Plugins MVP with MCP install behind an internal flag (PR #6722), collapsible per-workspace groups in the ports dropdown, and Quick Create Workspace on...
A Chinese lab shipped a runtime that manages two American coding agents as subagents, and it went from repo creation to 145,439 stars in four days. deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness published dsh-v0.1.0-rc.7 at 12:01 UTC today, its first tagged release since the repo appeared on Au...
312 stars and 24 forks within 24 hours of appearing August 11, MIT (GitHub). Notable for targeting three harnesses at once, which puts it in the emerging agent-agnostic UI layer category rather than single-vendor plugin territory. One day old, no releases, no independent verif...
Three things happened this month that only make sense together. Agent Plugins 1.0 shipped co-signed by six competitors: AWS, Anysphere, Microsoft, OpenAI, Vercel and Google (GitHub Changelog). It makes skills-plus-MCP bundles portable across clients. OpenAI's August 11 Codex c...
