Skillsync turns Claude Code sessions into shareable skills

Skillsync launched on Hacker News on September 17, built by a small team of ex-Juspay Rust engineers. It captures every Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor session already on a developer's machine, makes those sessions searchable and shareable by URL, and converts the strong ones into reusable skills any agent can load, according to Skillsync's Hacker News launch post.

The company raised $500,000 from Y Combinator and Character Capital after pivoting away from a tool that tried to identify strong engineers by scanning their GitHub code. It's a reversal. Instead of judging developers by what they produced, Skillsync now judges agent sessions by what they did, and packages the good ones for reuse.

The bet only works if the session transcript, not the diff, turns out to be the artifact worth keeping from agentic coding. Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor each generate transcripts, but as of the September 17 launch none of them makes those transcripts portable across the other two. If Skillsync is right, whoever indexes sessions across tools ends up owning a lock-in point none of the IDE vendors has claimed yet.

The launch post doesn't say whether teams actually want to search and reuse old agent sessions at scale, or whether most transcripts turn out to be as disposable as the diffs Skillsync's founders used to grade.
