Leah, Sapiens, Zero and TotalCtrl each argue their category was built for humans, not agents, and can't just add an AI tier.

Four vendors retired their own software category between September 15 and 18, arguing that software built for humans running tools can't be fixed with an add-on AI layer.
This is a bet that a bolt-on AI tier isn't enough. Buyers using CLM, CRM, or policy-admin systems from these vendors should expect a full platform swap pitch instead of an upgrade path.
Leah killed CLM outright on September 18. Sapiens launched SapiensAIP on September 15, using agent swarms to handle legacy policy-admin migration inside its core insurance system. TotalCtrl released a vibe-coded, all-in-one platform on September 16. And Helsinki-based Zero raised $10.3M on September 15, explicitly to replace CRM and the prospecting and customer-success tools around it.
None of these four is selling an AI feature inside an existing SKU. Each argues the category itself, built for a human operating the software, doesn't survive the move to agents operating it instead.
Watch which vendor is willing to name its own category as the thing being retired. Leah did, killing CLM by name. Sapiens didn't. It kept building policy-admin tooling under a new label. The vendor that kills the name is the one with nothing left in that category to protect.
